Below are the statements of the authors of the work:

“To have contributed in the preparation of didactic work "Bee No No Food: activities book for Environmental Education ", dedicated primarily to children 8 a 11 years, elementary school students, I had a feeling you have filled a gap in my life educator. Explain-me: There are approximately 50 years I dedicate myself to the study of bees and education, but always with an emphasis on the college level. Already I supervised many theses, I did many publications and frequently received, in my lab, the visit of teachers and students from kindergarten and elementary school, but it is the first time I have written especially for children. I confess that this feeling is very rewarding and I feel accomplished.

The work we have prepared aims to contribute to the construction of the basic pillars of the importance of bees for the conservation of the environment, and encourage children in the way of admiration and protection of those little pollinating insects. The basic teachings in this book will certainly contribute to the understanding of the important pollination phenomenon. This work, run by bees and other pollinators, It is essential for the reproduction of plants and, consequently, for the recovery of degraded green areas, forest conservation, maintaining biodiversity and, what few people know, for increasing productivity in the agricultural orchards and fields to a greater supply of food in the world. These new concepts will certainly contribute to the formation of more conscious youth, which will make huge difference to a new generation of Brazilians.”

“Writing for children is really a great privilege! Who does not want a curious reader, motivated, wanting to know more and more? Because this book is especially dedicated to this reader that grows with thirst for knowledge about the world and about life, and offers with equal joy to the teacher mobilized in its mission to educate children for life in a sustainable world.

No book is able to provide all answers to all questions surfing the tiny head of a child, but we hope to contribute substantially to our young readers feel satisfied and learn a lot about bees and the work that bees perform for this world continues verdejando, blooming and producing the food needed to sustain life on our planet.

This project, texts, Illustrations, activities and also a video have been specially designed to share knowledge, fun and make you think while! The idea is to put the current scientific knowledge within the reach of children and beginning readers on the subject. In the course, we dialogue with them, urging his reasoning, wishing that strongly interested in the topic, to reflect and to express the knowledge assimilated in own attitudes and languages.”
